Overview

INHOM company specializes in the production of hand-blown glassware, as well as bottles of various shapes, sizes and colors. For several years the company has been offering the unique for Bulgaria opportunity to monitor the work process in production. The tour introduces visitors to the process by which the rough untreated glass mass turns into exquisite glassware, which makes us approach the windows and stare at them for a long time. Visitors can even take part in the work and leave with an item they have personally decorated, as well as other souvenirs purchased from the exhibition hall. The factory is located on the shores of Lake Beloslav, on the site where in 1893 the first glass factory in Bulgaria was opened. INHOM is the only company left today in this region known for its long traditions in the production and processing of glass. As such, it seeks to preserve and further develop the traditional methods used in the production of Beloslav glass, while combining them with the latest advances in technology in this field. Visitors to the museum are greeted by a technologist-consultant who accompanies them throughout the tour and readily answers all questions. The tour begins with a story about the history of glass production in Beloslav, dating from 1893. Following is an acquaintance with the stages of the production process and the materials needed to make glass mass, from which the master blowers make unique shapes. After a short informational talk, it's time for perhaps the most interesting part of the museum tour - a live demonstration of making glassware. Visitors enter the workshop with the ovens, where, without interrupting the work, a seven-minute demonstration is made - three hand-blown products are made. The heat from the furnaces heated to 1500 - 1800 degrees reminds visitors that although it looks like working with plasticine, the master blower processes hot glass. From the production workshop, visitors head to the museum part of the tour. It includes no less interesting experiences, such as a walk around a glass river, viewing unique works of art and entering a glass "cave". A visit to the Museum of Glass gives you the opportunity to enter a "glass cave" - a glass furnace, attractively adapted to peek into its depths, where natural and synthetic materials have tamed their strength under the influence of fire and turned into a calm glass mass, from which the master glaziers sculpted their wares.
