"Koshu Bair" area
Overview
Koshu Bair is the only ski slope between the Carpathians and the Balkan Mountains. Its length is 250 meters and on weekends, when the winter is snowy, 150-200 white sports fans gather here. Thus, they save time and money for travel from the sea to distant mountain resorts. The facility near Valchi Dol does not have big claims, but it satisfies the needs of the local people since 1998. Then the medical assistant Penko Petrov, who is one of the biggest local enthusiasts of skiing, suggested the idea of creating a track. The local sports community supports him. Thus, Valchi Dol, which is the birthplace of the world wrestling champion Petko Sirakov and with long traditions in sports, accepts and develops the idea, which today gives rise to a new pride of the town.
