Lipnik Forest Park

Overview

Lipnik Forest Park is located in the area of ​​the village of Nikolovo, 10 km east of Ruse.
It is located in a vast forest of linden trees with an area of ​​about 20,000 acres, hence the name of the place. It is considered the largest forest park in Bulgaria.
The construction and design of the surrounding area as a park began in the 1950s. Villas of many enterprises from Ruse (some of which do not function), restaurants, artificial lakes, hotel, zoo, children's playground, landscaped areas, sports facilities, camping. Here is the former residence "Lipnik" of Todor Zhivkov, privatized and converted into a nursing home.
Every year in the forest park on August 2 - Ilinden, a traditional fair is organized.
There is a city bus line.
The following sights are located in the forest park: The lake with the lilies; White Girl Sculpture; Sculpture "The Black Girl"; Lipnik Residence and the Zoo.
