Overview

Vladimir Dimitrov - The master was born in 1882 in the small border village of Frolosh to immigrants from Macedonia. He spent his teenage years in Kyustendil. From here begins his path of creative maturation as an artist. Vladimir Dimitrov-Maistora lived and worked in the picturesque and rich village of Shishkovtsi near Kyustendil from 1926 to 1944. Here he finds his models, which he paints in the field, among the apple orchards, at the village fairs. The museum house was opened on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth and is on two floors. As the exhibition is on the second floor. The artist's room is more than modest: an iron bed covered with a home-woven rug, a small stove, a rough wooden table, a chair, a tripod, a towel for the face and hands. The Master's tomb is also nearby. There is also a house-monument with halls for paintings of the Master. And in front of the house on the square there is a bronze figure of the artist.
