Hristo Gradechliev Art Gallery, Kavarna
Overview
The art gallery in Kavarna was opened in 1981 in a former school adapted for the needs of the cultural institute. Since 2005 by the decision of the Municipal Council the Art Gallery is named after the great Bulgarian graphic artist Hristo Gradechliev. The collection of the Gallery consists of nearly 1000 artworks. Most of them have been donated by sponsors and artists. Every year, the Art Gallery organizes: "Plein Air of Drawing", in which prominent Bulgarian artists participate, "Plein Air of Drawing and Watercolor" with the participation of students from different universities in Bulgaria, International Plein Air "Sea-Wind" in the village of Kamen Bryag.
In 2014 - the building of the Gallery was renovated.
The gallery owns ten artworks of the great mariner in the fine arts - Hristo Kavarnaliev, who was also born in Kavarna and is connected with the sea.
