Uzana hut

Overview

Uzana hut is located at an altitude of 1240 meters in the eponymous area, Uzana, on the ridge of Stara Planina. The Uzana area is located in the Gabrovo Balkans and is accessible by asphalt road from Gabrovo. The distance is 25 kilometers. The hut is open all year round and offers opportunities for walking and mountain tourism, and in winter - for skiing.
Uzana hut is a solid three-storey building with a spacious dining room, lobby and wide veranda. It has 11 bedrooms and two attics with a total capacity of about 80 seats. The rooms have 2, 3, 4 and more beds. In winter, some of them are heated by solid fuel, which provides comfort.
In 2009-2010 all rooms in the hut were renovated. New beds with mattresses were installed, the rooms were painted and refreshed. There are toilets and bathrooms on the ground floor of the building, as well as on the two bedrooms.
The hut has its own water source with very clean and cold water. There is a kitchen with electric and gas cooking facilities.
In winter it offers very good conditions for winter sports. The surroundings of the resort are suitable for hiking, orienteering, radio detection, rock climbing and caving.
There is a rare flora in the area, protected in the Red Book.
Uzana attracts people with its crystal clear mountain air, silence and magnificent views. Here is the starting point of many mountain routes and peaks (see Botev, Shipka and Buzludzha peaks). The area is located in the middle of the tourist route "Kom - Emine".
The opportunities for cultural tourism in the region are huge. Nearby is the architectural and ethnographic museum "Etara", the Sokol Monastery and Bozhentsi, which are located a few kilometers from Uzana.
Uzana Eco Trail is one of the newly built eco-trails and is located on a large ridge meadow at 1300 meters above sea level. in the resort area of ​​Uzana. The trail starts between the Impulse Hotel and the Three Bears Restaurant. The route is about 1 hour, and on the trail itself are built many recreation areas, "classroom", "Indian corner", many stairs on the rocks, terraces with beautiful views, and passes by the entrance of the cave Lednishkata. The trail offers beautiful views of the peaks Shipka, Buzludzha, Ispolin (the highest peak in the Shipka part of Stara Planina), Triglav and Botev (the mountain peak of Stara Planina). It is extremely suitable for walking with children, and there are enough information boards and markings.
