Aleko hut
Overview
Aleko is a tourist hut located in the Maslovitsa area of Vitosha, at the northeastern foot of Malak Rezen peak. This is the first hut on Vitosha - built in its original form in the period 1924 - 1932.
It was built with the work and funds of many tourists and skiers - enthusiasts, followers of Aleko Konstantinov - the founder of the tourist movement in Bulgaria. It is owned by the tourist association "Aleko Konstantinov" - a branch of the Bulgarian Tourist Union (BTS) and since 2000 is managed by the Sports and Tourist Association "Moten". It is a massive three-storey building with a capacity of 88 seats (apartments, rooms with 2 to 8 beds and several dormitories). The bathrooms and washbasins are multi-storey and the bathroom is common to the whole building. as well as a ski wardrobe.
The area around the hut is separated as a ski center, with 4 ski lifts, 2 chair lifts and several slopes of varying difficulty. The base of the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) for Vitosha region is located behind the hut, in a separate massive building. The ski center can be reached by 15 km of paved road from the Dragalevtsi district in Sofia, on which bus №66 runs, as well as with the gondola cable car "Simeonovo - Aleko".
