Byala Reka Eco-trail
Overview
Byala Reka Eco-trail is located on the territory of the Central Balkan National Park. It has a length of 1.83 km and an altitude of 570 to 630 m. The eco-trail starts northwest of the town of Kalofer, and the Monastery is nearby. A walk for about an hour will give you pleasure and amazement at the beauty of the park.
Its beginning is about 280 meters from the outer border of the park, near the bivouac of the same name. The route crosses the Byala Reka River on several bridges, forming a kind of figure eight.
The route follows the gorge of the river. For curious tourists, information boards are set up, telling curious facts about the typical flora and fauna of the park.
The natural wealth of the Central Balkans impresses with its forests, water, animal and plant species. Here can be seen 11 unique plant species. The Central Balkan National Park also has a huge variety of animal species, including bears, wolves, wild goats, golden eagles and many others.
