Overview

The Chuprene Clock Tower is a clock tower in the village of Chuprene, Vidin region, Bulgaria. The tower is also the bell tower of the neighboring church of St. Nicholas. In 1976 the tower was declared a cultural monument.

The tower was built in 1899 by Macedonian masters, led by master Evto Velov from Yablanitsa, Debar region.

In 2011, saints were painted on the four facades of the tower. The tower is 15 m high. The masonry is made of cut limestone blocks. Around 1927 - 1928 a clock mechanism with four dials was installed and still works today. An image of the tower appears in the coat of arms of the municipality of Chuprene.
