Overview

The clock tower in Botevgrad is located in the city center, on Osvobozhdenie Square. It was built in 1866 by the local master builder Vuno Markov. The clock mechanism is made by the local blacksmith Gencho Nakov, and the bell - by master Lazar Dimitrov from Bansko.
It is the tallest Revival clock tower in Bulgaria and is a symbol of the city. Its height is 30 m. The baroque elements and the frescoes decorating the wavy cornices are interesting. The lower part of the tower is made of stone, with a door through which one enters inside to service and wind the clock mechanism. The diameter of the tower decreases with height.

The tower has been declared an architectural and cultural monument of national significance and is included in the list of 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria.
