Buynovtsi Monastery
Overview
The first information about the existence of the monastery is from the seventeenth century when the lands of Elena, Bebrovo, Zlataritsa, and Kapinovo became the property of a member of the sultan's family. In 1836 the local people from the village of Buynovtsi decided to build a church on the site of the old monastery. Construction was completed in 1897 when the bell tower was erected.
